Taylor Swift makeup looks we love

It’s Taylor’s birthday on 13 December, so to celebrate, we’ve rounded up five of our favourite Taylor Swift makeup looks.

She might be known for – and have sung about – her signature red lips, but there’s a lot more to TayTay’s makeup game than that!

Wildest Dreams video

Taylor adopts a radical change of look for her Wildest Dreams video – she goes darkest brunette! The deep red lipstick, black eyeliner and dramatic lashes definitely suit the vintage flavour of the video, and even remind us a little bit of Dita von Teese.

To recreate this look, try Eyelure Cheryl Girls Night lashes, Olivia Palermo x Ciate London Satin Kiss lipstick in Velveteen, and Schwing eyeliner from theBalm.

At the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards

Taylor wowed at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards by opting for a striking high fashion look featuring a very dramatic eye. Wisely, she paired this with a pinky-nude lipstick, making sure nothing detracted from the impact of that dark navy eyeliner.

For a similar look, try theBalm’s Mr Write (Now) eyeliner in Raj B. Navy and Sigma Beauty Dance ‘Til Dawn lipstick.

At the 2015 Billboard Music Awards

Taylor showed off a new maturity with this sultry, smokey eyed makeup look at the Billboard Awards earlier this year.

If you want to emulate this look, keep lips soft and eyes sultry. Try the Olivia Palermo x Ciate London The Smouldering Eye Palette for a range of cool smokey eye shades, including matte and shimmer greys and browns. Bourjois Rouge Edition lipstick in Beige Trench or Rose Tweed makes for a complementary subtle lip colour.

At the 2014 Grammys

To complement her stunning dress, Taylor opted for silvery grey eyeshadow with strong black eyeliner, and a punchy pink lipcolour.

For something similar, try the Sleek MakeUP i-Quad eyeshadow and eyeliner palette in Medusa’s Kiss, while theBalm Girls lipstick in Anita Toyboy will provide a bright pink pop of colour.

Love Story video

Yes, it’s cheesy, but we love Taylor’s costume drama fantasy video. While her gown might be stunningly elaborate, her makeup is barely-there, dreamy and innocent.

For a soft eye look, check out some of the lighter shades in Sleek MakeUP’s Au Naturel eyeshadow palette, and to achieve a soft pink cheek with some ever-so-subtle contouring, try the Olivia Palermo x Ciate London Cheekbone Cheat Blusher/Bronzer Duo in Bluff Point. Don’t forget to add candlelight for a super-flattering effect!
