Body mist vs perfume: what's the difference?

Body mists are lighter than perfume, with a lower concentration of fragrance oils. That makes them perfect for spritzing generously after a shower, topping up through the day or wearing when a full perfume feels like too much. Perfume (eau de parfum) is richer and lasts longer, so it's ideal for your signature scent.

How to make your body mist last longer

  • Spray onto moisturised skin. Fragrance clings better to hydrated skin than dry.
  • Focus on pulse points like your wrists, neck and behind your knees, and mist through your hair too.
  • Layer it with a matching body lotion or eau de parfum from the same range.
  • Pop a travel size in your bag for top-ups.

Body mist FAQs

Is body mist the same as perfume?

No. Body mist contains less fragrance oil than perfume, so it's lighter and more refreshing. You can reapply it often throughout the day.

How long does body mist last?

Usually a few hours. Spraying onto moisturised skin and layering with a matching lotion helps it last longer.

Can I spray body mist on my hair?

Many body mists, like Bahama Fragrance Brazil Sunset Hair & Body Mist, are made for hair and body. Hold the bottle at arm's length for a light, even mist.
