Lactic Acid is a naturally occurring substance found in many foods. Present in milk, it's the reason why Cleopatra supposedly bathed in milk to keep her skin soft and beautiful. When used regularly, Lactic Acid creates visible change in the skin. This Alpha-Hydroxy-Acid differs from its AHA cousins in two important ways. Firstly, it is a sensitive skin hero, gentle enough for use on all skin types and secondly, it improves the skin's Natural Moisture Factors.
Natural Moisture Factors are compounds which are naturally present in skin. They form a 'chemical coat' ensuring skin stays protected and hydrated. With age, the level of Natural Moisture Factors in the skin decreases. Pestle & Mortar NMF addresses this with a laboratory-blended version which is highly beneficial in rebuilding the moisture level in the skin.

how to use
Use morning or evening. Saturate a cotton pad with NMF and sweep over cleansed face avoiding the eye area. This product contains an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that may increase your skin's sensitivity to the sun and particularly the possibility of sunburn. We recommend wearing a daily SPF when using products containing an AHA.
