Glycolic Acid is a plant-derived Alpha Hydroxy Acid which works by dissolving the bonds between dead skin cells so that they can be sloughed away from the surface of the skin. It is a powerful skin exfoliant and works specifically on the surface layer of the dermis to deliver skin that is brighter, younger and fresher looking and a complexion that is refined and even.

With a free acid-value of 6.8% and a pH of 3.8, Exfoliate is suitable for all skin types and delivers instant skin benefits. The free acid value is the percentage of the acid which is actually absorbed into the skin, and it is agreed that a minimum of 4% (free acid value) is required for noticeable cell turnover. Furthermore, low pH formulations preserve the strength of Glycolic Acid for optimal efficacy on the skin.

This product contains an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that may increase your skin's sensitivity to the sun and particularly the possibility of sunburn. We recommend wearing a daily SPF when using products containing glycolic acid.

Use pm. Apply exfoliate to a cotton pad and sweep over cleansed face avoiding the eye area.

Very acid!

I was looking for a mild AHA lotion without alcohol and was seduced by the good reviews for good tolerance and effectiveness of this product. Alas, my mature, combination skin disagreed with this product and got red angry + got a number of breakouts (at my age!). I am not sure if I will retry, and will definitely not repurchase.

I am only using this toner about 3 weeks but I love it so far. I’ve very sensitive and reactive skin so I was a bit worried about using it in case I had a reaction but I didn’t. It has definitely made a difference to my pores and my over skin texture and dullness. I won’t be without this product now

Hi, this product has not been tested on pregnant women. Glycolic acid can make skin more sensitive to UV rays so we would advise to ensure to wear an SPF everyday. However if you are concerned would recommend that you consult your doctor about the ingredients :) x
