Shampoo For Your Hair Type

For dry or sensitised hair, the Kérastase Nutritive range adds moisture and softness, helping hair feel more comfortable and easier to manage. A standout vegan-friendly shampoo option is Kérastase Genesis Bain Nutri-Fortifiant, a nourishing shampoo that strengthens hair, prevents breakage, and promotes healthy growth. It contains key ingredients like edelweiss native cells and ginger root, leaving hair stronger, healthier, and more resilient.

Sulfate-Free Shampoo

Kérastase also offers sulfate-free shampoos for those who want an even gentler cleanse. These are ideal for colour-treated, dry, or frizz-prone hair, as they won’t strip natural oils or fade your color. Options like Chroma Absolu Bain Chroma Respect and Bain Riche Chroma Respect gently clean while maintaining hair’s natural moisture, leaving it soft, manageable and vibrant. Using a sulfate-free shampoo can be especially helpful if you wash frequently or want to protect delicate or chemically treated hair.

Dani’s Pro Tip: how to shampoo like a stylist

“A little tip for washing, you only need a small €2 coin size amount, applied twice. Start at the roots, massage gently, and let the shampoo run through the lengths. When using professional shampoos, take a second to emulsify it with water in your hands first. It makes all the difference! Squeeze your shampoo into your wet palms, rub them together to create a creamy lather, then add a touch more water until it turns frothy. Applying it this way gives a more even cleanse, helps your shampoo work harder and prevents product build up"
Dani, Cloud 10 Beauty Pro Stylist

Avoid washing your hair with very hot water, as it can dry out your hair. If your hair is oily at the roots but dry on the ends, try focusing shampoo on your scalp and conditioner on the mid-lengths to ends. Some Kérastase shampoos are formulated to be used every day, while others are better a few times a week depending on your hair type.

Overall, Kérastase shampoo makes it easy to treat your hair the way a stylist would in a salon, with formulas designed to deliver healthy, manageable, and beautiful hair. Pick the Kérastase shampoo that matches your hair’s needs, use it consistently, and you’ll see and feel the difference.

Kérastase Shampoo FAQs

How often should I wash my hair with Kérastase shampoo?

It really depends on your hair type and lifestyle. For normal hair, 2–3 times a week is usually enough, while oily hair may need daily or every-other-day washing. Remember, using a gentle, sulfate-free formula can make more frequent washes less drying.

Can I use Kérastase shampoo if my hair is colour-treated?

Yes! Kérastase Shampoos like Chroma Absolu and Blond Absolu are specifically formulated to protect and enhance your colour. They help maintain vibrancy, reduce brassiness, and keep hair soft and shiny, meaning fewer trips to the salon.

How much Kérastase shampoo should I actually use?

A little goes a long way. For most hair types, a small, €2 coin-sized amount is enough. You should wash twice, first to remove build-up, then the second wash for a full cleanse. Always focus on the scalp and let the shampoo flow down the lengths.

Are there sulphate-free Kérastase shampoos?

Yes. The Chroma Absolu Bain Chroma Respect and Bain Riche Chroma Respect shampoos are sulphate-free, which makes them a gentle choice for colour-treated hair.

Which Kérastase shampoo is best for hair loss?

The Genesis shampoos are made for weak hair that is prone to falling because of breakage. Choose Bain Hydra-Fortifiant for thin or oily hair and Bain Nutri-Fortifiant for dry hair.

Does Kérastase make a purple shampoo?

Yes. Blond Absolu Bain Ultra-Violet is the Kérastase purple shampoo. It neutralises brassy, yellow tones in blonde, bleached and grey hair.
