Paula's Choice Clinical 1% Retinol Treatment tackles a wide range of skin concerns with a potent concentration of 1% Retinol, one of the ultimate anti-ageing ingredients. Paula's Choice Clinical 1% Retinol Treatment offers one of the highest concentrations of Retinol available without prescription.
The formula also contains Peptides, another essential anti-ageing ingredient. Peptides promote skin's production of collagen, helping to keep skin firmer and younger-looking. Other star ingredients include Sodium Hyaluronate, a form of Hyaluronic Acid which keeps skin hydrated, and Vitamin E, which heals and moisturises. To help minimise irritation, Paula's Choice Clinical 1% Retinol Treatment also includes soothing botanical extracts such as Oat Kernel and Licorice Root extract. how to use

Apply a pea-sized amount to face and neck after cleansing and toning, then follow with your favourite serum and/or night-time moisturiser. Avoid the lips and direct contact with the eyes or corners of the eyes.

When you first start using Paula's Choice Clinical 1% Retinol Treatment, start by using it no more than 3 evenings a week to give skin time to build tolerance. Gradually increase your usage to every other evening, then finally every night. If you experience dryness, flaking or redness, reduce frequency of use or mix one pump of Paula's Choice Clinical 1% Retinol Treatment with your serum or moisturiser. Discontinue use if symptoms persist.

All skin types, but especially normal to dry skin.

Products containing Retinol are not recommended for use during pregnancy or when breast-feeding.

I love a lot of the Paula’s Choice products and wanted to try this 1% retinol treatment. It is very potent! I can only use a tiny bit twice a week - my skin is just generally so over sensitive. The treatment is great - I just recommend starting off slowly to see how your skin adapts to it.

It is a lovely texture and applies nicely. It is irritating to begin with so I only used once or twice per week.

This retinol is great but strong. If you're a newbie, I would avoid this because it will irritate your skin. If you have experience using retinol then I would say ease into it. Lovely, creamy formula though and doesn't feel sticky on the skin.

A really lovely retinol

The use of retinol creams needs to be slow and steady and the Paula's Choice 1% Retinol Treatment is one of the highest levels of retinol available over the counter - I wouldn't start at this level for fear for damaging your skin's barrier, but for those who are used to using retinol on a regular basis, it's a really lovely cream that is easy to use, feels great on the skin and is very effective. I'd suggest to use every second day and keep your hydration levels up with mists and other hydrating products whilst using retinol.

Starting to see results

I think this product is fantastic. I did go through some peeling and purging (perhaps got too excited and used too frequently) but now that has calmed down I am seeing great results in skin tone and redness and repair of old scars etc. 100% recommend but it is strong for a retinol newbie like me so it’s taken a month or so to get used to!

I wouldn't recommend it for very sensitive skin, I got a really bad reaction on my skin went away after a day or 2.. so nothing too serious.

Love this retinol

Been using this for about 2 months now and I really see a difference, takes a few weeks so don't expect miracles from the first use. I was using it every third night and now use it every second night alternating with a vitamin C serum. My skin is clearer and brighter and overall looking much better. Had someone comment yesterday that my skin was glowing!

I have been using this retinol product for a long time now and it really makes a difference to my skin. It smoothes fine lines, evens skin tone and helps prevent blemishes from resurfacing. I use it 3 times a week at night to give my skin maximum benefits. It is important though to use a sunscreen when using a retinol product to prevent pigmentation.
