Why you need it
Why you need it
Paula's Choice Clinical 1% Retinol Treatment tackles a wide range of skin concerns with a potent concentration of 1% Retinol, one of the ultimate anti-ageing ingredients. Retinol, a form of Vitamin A, is proven to reduce the appearance of lines, wrinkles and visible pores over time. It also helps with brown spots, acne breakouts, and any redness from previous breakouts. Paula's Choice Clinical 1% Retinol Treatment offers one of the highest concentrations of Retinol available without prescription.
The formula also contains Peptides, another essential anti-ageing ingredient. Peptides promote skin's production of collagen, helping to keep skin firmer and younger-looking. Other star ingredients include Sodium Hyaluronate, a form of Hyaluronic Acid which keeps skin hydrated, and Vitamin E, which heals and moisturises. To help minimise irritation, Paula's Choice Clinical 1% Retinol Treatment also includes soothing botanical extracts such as Oat Kernel and Licorice Root extract. The creamy lotion texture means it's especially suited to normal and dry skin.

Q: What are the benefits of retinol?
A: Retinol helps promote collagen production, speed up cell turnover, unclog pores, and improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and uneven skin tone.
Q: Can I combine it with other active ingredients?
A: While it can be used alongside other products, be cautious when layering with other potent actives (like vitamin C or AHAs) to reduce the potential for irritation.
Q: How often should I use it?
A: Initially, start with 2-3 times per week to allow your skin to adapt. Based on tolerance, you can gradually increase usage.
Q: Why might I experience redness or peeling?
A: Retinol can cause an initial "purge" or adjustment phase, during which you might notice redness, peeling, or increased sensitivity. This typically subsides as your skin gets accustomed to the treatment.
Q: How long does a bottle typically last with regular use?
A: With regular use, a standard-sized bottle (typically around 30 ml) should last approximately 2-3 months, depending on the amount used.
Q: What makes this retinol treatment "clinical"?
A: The "clinical" label indicates a higher concentration of active ingredients, targeting advanced skincare concerns more aggressively than regular treatments.
Q: Can I use it if I have rosacea or eczema?
A: Due to its potency, it's advised to be cautious if you have sensitive skin conditions like rosacea or eczema. Consultation with a dermatologist is recommended.
