Why you need it

Paula's Choice Calm 1% BHA Sensitive Skin Exfoliant Travel Size is a lightweight lotion with 1% Salicylic Acid, a Beta-Hydroxy Acid with anti-inflammatory properties. The lower concentration of Salicylic Acid makes this product an ideal BHA starter product for those with sensitive skin. Salicylic Acid lifts dead skin cells from the skin's surface and penetrates into the pore lining to help remove blockages.
It also calms the redness associated with Rosacea or sensitive skin reactions. A variety of soothing botanical extracts including Oat Bran Extract and Willow Herb Extract help to calm skin, while Glycerin and the essential fatty acid Lauric Acid have skin-repairing properties.

how to use
Apply once or twice daily after cleansing and toning. Apply over the entire face. This product can be used in the general eye area, but avoid the eyelids, lower lash line, and direct contact with the eyes. Follow with SPF during the day time.

Skin type:
All skin types, but especially Rosacea-prone or Sensitive Skin.

Important:
Do not use products containing Salicylic Acid if you are allergic to aspirin.
Always use a daily SPF when using products containing AHAs/BHAs like Glycolic Acid and Salicylic Acid.

Best exfoliant for sensitive skin

I trust Paula's Choice products for my sensitive skin and been using them for some years. I bought the Paula's Choice Calm 1% BHA Sensitive Skin in travel size. I have previously used the older version of this product in 2017 - it was known as "Calm Redness Relief 1% BHA Lotion". I have combination-oily skin with blackheads/whiteheads in the T-zone areas. I use the exfoliant after cleansing. After some days of use I have seen a reduction in blackheads and clearer skin. This exfoliant has not caused and redness/breakouts. The travel size is perfect to buy if you are just starting out with exfoliants.

Not so sure

I wanted to try a gentle chemical exfoliation but I’m not sure about this. The consistency is light cream but hard to see any results. Still I’ll finish the sample but I might try other products from PC

I have combination skin with occasional break out and I use it every morning after toning. Feels lovely on skin, didn’t see much improvement though
