The Ordinary. If you haven’t heard of this brand before, can we ask… have you been living under a rock?! We joke beauts! Honestly though, can you really say you know someone who has not tried and loved at least one of The Ordinary’s products? This beauty brand has many, many products, from best-selling skincare to makeup, and now a new hair care range too. This new hair care range is long awaited by many! Consisting of the brands first ever shampoo, conditioner and scalp treatment serum, if it’s anything like their skincare, we will be obsessed!

Firstly, don’t be alarmed by this two in one product. The Ordinary’s Sulphate 4% Cleanser for Hair and Body raises many eyebrows at the name, as we don’t use shower gel on our lovely locks, but with The Ordinary, we trust the process. As a body wash, it works the same as any normal body wash. Keeping in line with The Ordinary’s approach, the formula is fragrance-free. This may feel clinical, but trust us, it’s effective.

"The cleansing agent we selected (SLES-2) breaks down and removes dirt and other impurities by dissolving the barrier between dirt, oil and water. Our SLES-2 is biosourced and readily biodegradable. The molecular structure of SLES-2 allows for effective cleansing of the scalp, hair, and body at low concentrations to minimize concerns with potential irritation typically associated with the use of sulphates." - Deciem The Abnormal Beauty Company

When using this on the hair, this is where it really works its magic. If you’re a little apprehensive when you read the ingredient list containing sulphates, this is totally normal. Sulphates have recently got a bad reputation in the beauty industry and were blamed for over-stripping and damaging hair, but The Ordinary are here to fight their case for sulphates in haircare routines. This new The Ordinary shampoo only contains 4% sulphate concentration, which is the ideal amount to use on hair to keep hair nourished and not dry it out. This two in one cleanser for hair and body will definitely save time in the shower and will be keener on the budget too! It’s a win, win!

Next up, we have The Ordinary Behentrimonium Chloride 2% Conditioner. This is also fragrance-free like the shampoo. This lightweight conditioning formula will work just as well as your heavy conditioners. If you didn’t already know, behentrimonium chloride is a common ingredient found in most hair conditioners to give your hair that silky, soft feeling. Although this formula is lightweight, it has a gel-cream consistency which delivers ultimate moisture to your locks, leaving them feeling silky and soft to the touch.

Now, drumroll for the fabulous leave-in treatment... Say hello to The Ordinary’s Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA. This hair serum for scalp has a milky formula that contains a combination of ingredients that mimic the function of natural  moisturizing factors, as well as hyaluronic acid (HA) and squalane that are naturally produced within the skin. This water-light formulation is a first of its kind that improves scalp hydration while also offering skin barrier protection without sticking to the hair and weighing down the roots. If you suffer from dry, itchy, painful scalp, this hydrating serum will work wonders. In time, your scalp will become less painful and itchy and will leave your hair looking visibly healthier.
